Pre-K focuses on one theme per month of the school year. These units introduce scholars to new topics and allow them to explore and create.

3K Unit- Exploration

3K focuses on three units throughout the school year. The scholars are exposed to new topics and are encouraged to explore and create new things centered around these topics.

Kindergarten

ELA

Kindergarten ELA teaches each of the Next Generation Reading Standards in isolation. Scholars will be exposed to both literary and informational texts and learn to independently apply each skill taught. Our school uses the Wonders Curriculum as a reference.

Writing

Each month the fifth grade focuses on a specific type of writing that is aligned with the Next Generation Learning Writing Standards. Scholars will learn what the writing process is and have a chance to put it to practice with a new writing task each month. They will have the opportunity to read their work aloud during our class publishing parties.

Grade 3 Social Studies focuses heavily on geography and culture. The scholars will get a chance to learn how to use various tools and act as geographers to learn about other countries. After being introduced to geography and culture they will complete a case study on Nigeria, The People’s Republic of China, Egypt and Peru. Our school uses the Passport To Social Studies Curriculum as a reference.
